NAMI New York City Metro: Over 40 Support & Social Groups, Both Family Members and People Living with Mental Illness Are Sure to Find a Group That Fits.

Contact our Helpline at 212-684-3264 or helpline@naminyc.org and we’ll connect you to our programs!

  • You’ll get support, you’ll share coping strategies, and you’ll learn practical information. All groups are led by a trained volunteer with lived experience and are a safe and judgment-free environment of mutual respect. Please be mindful to not give direct advice. We encourage participants to use “I” statements and speak from their own experiences.

  • Our support groups are meeting both online and in person.

“Our support groups are powerful because they show, you are not alone. And they’re not led by a mental health professional. Peer support values lived experience. Leaders are facilitators, not professional experts. Everyone is an expert in the room…an expert on themselves.” – Kinsey McManus, former Services Director

If you are currently covered under one of our member welfare funds and are thinking about working with a mental health therapist, our staff would be happy to help you find an individual in-network mental health provider for support. Give us a call at 800-433-4TCS (4827) to start the process.
